Current project

Here are a couple of the current projects we've been working on. The pastel relief idea is from Dynamic Art Projects for Children, by Denise M. Logan. I believe the other idea is from Art Projects For Kids, but I'm not 100% sure.

Another interesting day

Day two of the Creative Spirit Art Festival was very interesting. I saw many inspiring speakers. It's way too early in the morning for me to remember their names, so I won't even bother. What I do remember is the energy of the festival. There was a real enthusiasm and excitement that permeated the studio. There was warmth. There was connection. I think that we all left feeling enriched and inspired to continue on and expand the arts programmes we were representing.

Fabulous Day

I'm so pumped. I went to a conference at the Creative Spirit Centre in Toronto. People from various art based programmes came together to share what they are doing. There were only about 15 of us there, but wow! So many neat things are happening across the country. I was particularly interested in H'art School of Smiles. They have been doing a fabulous programme that links life skills, literacy and computer literacy skills with art. Another programme they run is a prep school to help people with intellectual disabilities develop skills to help them attend university or college. My mind is bubbling with the possibilities that such a programme could facilitate in my community! I can't wait until tomorrow's sessions!
